INTO THE CHARMED CHURNED CIRCLE

In the 1800's, a sailor aboard a whaling vessel lived at the mercy of the sea. Leaving home for years at a time on voyages that unfolded on the surface of a threatening ocean. A sailor's life was shaped by the uncertainty of storms, dangerous passages through monumental glaciers, and descents in small boats to spear and kill the largest creatures of the sea. These individuals risked their lives, relying on their own prowess to navigate the unrelenting waters that surrounded them. Encircled by forces large and cosmic, their work was of the human realm: to hunt and kill whales for profit - ultimately, leading to their near extinction.
